Monarch Casino Resort Spa continues its mission of becoming Colorado’s premier gaming resort destination

Monarch Casino Resort Spa is pleased to welcome gaming industry veteran Michelle Shriver to the team as Corporate Vice President of Operations for Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. In this role, she will have primary responsibility for the operation of the newly expanded Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk. Michelle has been with Monarch serving as a consultant since April 2021.

“The Monarch culture is a passion for excellence and a desire to be the best at what you do,” said Shriver. “I am excited to step into this role at Monarch Casino Resort Spa and see this vision play out as the metamorphosis of this incredible property is completed.”

Michelle has a track record of approximately 20 years in the gaming and hospitality industry and extensive experience developing a corporate strategy aimed at maximizing revenues and achieving market leadership. Michelle will work closely with the experienced and loyal management team in Black Hawk, including General Manager Craig Pleva who has been with the Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. for over 16 years and has served as General Manager in Black Hawk since July 2014. 

Chief Operating Officer David Farahi plans to leave Monarch, effective September 3, 2021, to pursue business interests outside the gaming and hospitality industry. Mr. Farahi also resigned his position as the President of the Colorado Gaming Association, a post he has held for the last 6 years.
